Medical Tourism Application |
Machon Lev Final Project |
I programmed the entire functionality of this site. It is a database driven application to track all patients, queries, price quotes, receipts, invoices, itineraries, and calendars for a medical tourism company. It includes internal messaging and database generated statistics. There are different options and permissions allowed for different types of users, based on both what side the company is on (hospital, insurance company, administrator, travel agent) and what type of user within the company (administrator, secretary, etc...). I developed it using PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS. | I programmed this entire site. It is a web application for photo storage and editing. There are different options for viewing the galleries as thumbnails or a detailed list. There is a slideshow with Javascript fading effect. There are multiple editing options, ranging from rotating and resizing, to panorama stitching, to creating greeting cards by writing on pictures. Some of it is a GUI for PHP's GD library, but other parts, like algorithms for contrast/brightness correction and red-eye reduction, I wrote myself. I used PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML, and CSS. |
HBS Diamonds |
Machon Lev JCT English Speakers' Program Admin |
I was asked to develop search, order, and administration functionality for this Joomla CMS diamond and jewelry website. I developed front-end components for searching for diamonds/jewelry, displaying the results divided into a given number of results per page, including a form for marking up prices on the display page, and a form for adding items to an order list. The user can then view the order list, delete items, or continue and have his order emailed to the company and to himself. I also developed a back-end component for entering new diamonds/jewelry into the database, including a javascript calculator for computing mark-up/mark-down percentages of a generic price sheet, and uploading images of the diamonds/jewelry (and creating thumbnails of them) and certificates. I also added already-made components and edited some to adapt to our needs on the site, such as a form generator to add to our database and send a custom generated email to the administrator. I used PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML, and CSS in the development of the components. | I programmed the downloads page for this website. It reads from a text file instead of a database as it was requested from me to work without a database. I programmed an administration page to upload files, then edit the order that they are listed in the text file, and thus diplayed on the downloads site. You can also delete files completely, keep them on the server but not display them, and view modified date and file size. I programmed both the downloads and administration sites in PHP and HTML. |

I completely built this website except for the graphics. I decided to use Joomla CMS for this site to make it easy for the editor to add new articles and organize archived issues. I added a component for a newsletter and edited it in PHP and MySQL to meet requirements. I programmed a script to view each issue page by page in Javascript. I created the template based on a Photoshop design I was given, and I have tweaked both the HTML and CSS at times since to best meet the needs of the publication. | I did not create the template for this Joomla CMS website, but I have modified many times since it was originally created. I created the template for the Wordpress blog based on the main site template. I programmed the Javascript to change timezones in the schedule on the fly. I also designed and programmed the CSS for the calendar based on some guidelines. I have done the CSS for some other pages, including the registration pages, which are different than the main pages, based on a given design. I also programmed a script to change an English menu item to Hebrew that could not be done through Joomla since their Hebrew support is somewhat lacking. I also edited PHP in some components to meet the needs of the organization. |

I did not create the template, but updated it and added a few features with PHP, HTML, and CSS. I used PHP and Javascript to create a registration form for a summer program that would verify that required fields were properly filled in, then email the results to the organization administrators. | I was given multiple pages designed in Photoshop and turned them into proper website templates with HTML, CSS, and some Javascript. In addition to basic CSS, I also used some more complex CSS and Javascript to created a mock Windows XP explorer with thumbnails. |
